The race for the league title and the Champion’s League places has certainly seemed to help as well.
With Liverpool and Manchester City pushing each other to higher levels of sustained performance until the bitter end, this naturally has helped them to play like this in Europe as well.
Many European leagues have not seen this sort of action during the 18/19 season though.

When you consider that it is a history-making all English final in both major European competitions this season, it is clear that English football is on a high right now.
Interestingly, this is something that has been seen at a lower level before, with teams from other European nations doing well in certain years.
Whether English teams can carry this on for the foreseeable future remains to be seen but it will be a thrilling ride.
