The Premier League players we are most excited to see

The 2019-20 English Premier League season will resume Wednesday. Even though Liverpool have the title all but wrapped up, there many things left to decide in England’s top-flight.

And here we present you three players that could make a huge impact in deciding the outcome of the season. These are the three players we are most excited to watch upon the league’s resumption.

Paul Pogba – Manchester United

Few players in the world have been linked with a move away from their current club as much as Paul Pogba has been linked with a Manchester United exit. His performances this season have not helped, either.

The Frenchman has spent most of the campaign injured and the few times he saw action, he wasn’t as decisive as he should have been. Things are about to change down the stretch, though. Pogba could be one of the biggest X-factors during the final weeks of competition.

The former Juventus star is finally healthy, but he is not going to return to a team that is not playing for anything. The Red Devils are battling for a 2020-21 UEFA Champions League berth and the Frenchman could provide a huge boost in midfield playing alongside Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes.

Plus, Manchester United were undefeated in their last 11 matches in all competitions when the season got suspended. Can they extend that run with Pogba as the man controlling the tempo? If they accomplish that and Pogba looks comfortable, then he might decide to stay at Old Trafford after all.

But if not, his links regarding a potential exit to either Juventus or Real Madrid would get stronger than ever. Take a look at BetQL’s EPL picks every week to find out if out models think Pogba and pull United to the top of the table.

Jamie Vardy – Leicester City

Jamie Vardy’s history is quite unique. He was an average soccer player until his early 20s, and his questionable off-the-field behavior could have forced him to spend most of his career as a journeyman in England’s lower leagues. He played for Stocksbridge, Halifax Town and Fleetwood before joining Leicester City back in 2012.

Something changed since his move to The Foxes, however, and now he is one of the league’s most reliable marksman. Can he cap that off by becoming the league’s top scorer, something he has not achieved in the past?

As the league prepares to resume Wednesday, Vardy, 33, sits at the top of the scoring charts with 19 goals in 26 matches. His career-high mark was 24 goals in 2015-16 when Leicester won the title, but that year’s top scorer was Harry Kane with 25 strikes.

He has netted at least 18 times in three straight years, but he has a huge chance to make history and become the league’s most feared striker. It’s interesting to see whether he can capture that elusive scoring title. Keep reading BetQL’s Premier League predictions to find out if our models think Vardy can keep up his great form.

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool

Who else but Mohamed Salah to cap off this list? The Egyptian superstar has finished each of the last two seasons as the top scorer in the English Premier League and is undoubtedly chasing history here.

If he ends up as the top goal scoring threat once again, he would become the third player in league history to achieve that feat in three consecutive seasons. The other two were two of the most prolific strikers in league history – Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.

Salah is also a symbol of Liverpool’s rise over the past few years, and he could be in line for a major transfer in the coming months. The former Basel and Roma star found a home at Anfield Road and there have been several rumours about him leaving the club, with Real Madrid very interested in making a move for him.

It remains to be seen if that speculation affects him moving forward, as he will need to be extremely focused down the stretch to help Liverpool make history.
