At the start of the season many fans and pundits were backing one of three teams to win the title: Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea.
And it was these three teams that started off setting the pace and threatening to pull away from the rest. However, after eight games, some are changing their tune as to who they think will become champions.
Manchester City are top at the moment due to a superior goal difference over Arsenal, while the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool are hot on their heels. Here are the latest title odds from Paddy Power:
Manchester City 11/10
The bookies are still backing one of the Manchester teams to become champions this season. Manchester City looked immense in their first few league fixtures and opened up a sizeable lead over the rest of the chasing bunch.
However, they have suffered a few disappointing results recently including a loss against Tottenham and a home draw against Everton. City are joint top with Arsenal and will be looking to go on another long winning run again.
With the strength and depth of Pep Guardiola’s squad it will be difficult betting against City becoming champions but in recent weeks we have seen that they can be beaten.
The Reds are right up there to win the league this season. Jurgen Klopp has finally got his team playing the attacking football that he is renowned for and the Reds look like the complete package.
For Liverpool there is no doubting they have enough quality in their squad to win the league but the way in which they play when under pressure will be a telling factor.
They dominated Manchester United for large periods but failed to get all three points. It’s games such as those that they have to come away with all three points.
Perhaps it’s too early to start talking about the title for Liverpool fans. They will want to see how their team performs over the next couple of months but there is definitely a lot of optimism building.

The Gunners are also handed odds of 9/2 and finally seem to be clicking on the pitch. There was much dismay following Arsenal’s opening day defeat to Liverpool and Arsene Wenger was blasted for not buying more reinforcements.
Since that opening day defeat things have improved for Arsenal and with Alexis Sanchez looking dangerous up front, Arsenal once again look like a major threat this season.
In defence the partnership of Koscielny and Mustafi is flourishing putting to bed Arsenal’s defensive problems. We have seen Arsenal do this on almost a yearly basis though; play the best football and stick with the leaders only to fall away painfully in the second half of the season.
Only time will tell if they can go all the way this season.
Tottenham Hotspur 11/1
For Spurs it has been a brilliant start to the season. They currently find themselves in third position and are the only unbeaten team left in the league.
After getting themselves within touching distance of eventual champions Leicester last season, they will want to go one step further and bring the league trophy back to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have a host of attacking options and even with Harry Kane having already missed a large chunk of the season, Korean forward Son Heung-min has stepped in and played incredible football.
Tottenham are doing very well at the moment and their games against the top teams will make or break their season. They have already beaten Manchester City but drew against Liverpool.
They face Arsenal soon and a win away from home in that game will send confidence sky high.
Chelsea started off rather impressively under new manager Antonio Conte but went through a bit of a blip when they were beaten at home by Liverpool and then got thrashed a week later at Arsenal.
They have got their campaign back on track though in recent weeks with Costa and Hazard playing some top football. The Blues are now only three points behind the leaders.
One feels that Chelsea are still missing something though and their upcoming fixture against Manchester United will be massive in order for them to try and make a statement.
Win that and people will be quick to earmark Chelsea as a top contender once more.
Manchester United 12/1
The Red Devils have had a mixed bag type of season thus far. They started off beating everyone they faced until Manchester City came to Old Trafford and beat them.
Since then they have suffered a few poor results and some of their star players are somewhat underperforming. Paul Pogba in particular is finding it difficult to fit in with some arguing that Mourinho is playing him in the wrong position.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been leading the line for United and has missed some glorious chances already; particularly in games that United went on to drop points in. Wayne Rooney recently said that he thinks United can win the league.
United need to show more consistency if that’s going to be the case but at 12/1 I’d fancy putting some money on the Red Devils storming to the front of the pack in the second half of the season.
