Goal of The Week: Pablo Piatti v Sevilla

This week’s Goal of the Week, like last Sunday’s, comes from La Liga. Pablo Piatti scored twice as Almeria beat Sevilla 3-1 at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, and resigned Sevilla to their fourth loss on the trot. Piatti scored two stunning goals in this game in the final ten minutes, but we’ve chosen the first one which came in the 81st minute to put his side 2-0 up. The second goal is featured at the end.

Piatti is a 21-year-old striker from Argentina, and since joining the Spanish club in 2008 has gone on to score seventeen goals in eighty-one games – including five this season.

Missing out: Piatti’s beautiful flick in the same game, and Liedson’s fantastic strike for Sporting against Vitoria Setubal in the Portuguese league.
