Movin’ On Up

After a strong performance last week, Ruining Football need to follow it up to keep moving back up the Fantasy Football standings.

As predicted last week, the scores for Gameweek 31 were big, with a lot of teams breaking the 100 point mark. We had to settle for 96 after four or five below average performances but still managed to move a few thousand places higher in the overall rankings.

Aston Villa let us down big time, with Carlos Cuellar and James Collins combining for a miserable six points from their double gameweek.

The gamble that was Adam Johnson was a bit of a disaster has he finished with three points from two games. The man he replaced, Darren Fletcher, picked up eight points for his Man of the Match showing against Liverpool.

There were positives however, with Dider Drogba justifying his selction as skipper with 40 points thanks to three goals and an assist in two games.

Carlos Tevez and Cesc Fabregas also found the net to pick up up 10 points, while Leighton Baines’ two clean sheets and an assist meant he contributed 15.

The one change to the squad for this week sees the in-form Wolves midfielder Matt Jarvis come in for Birmingham City’s Lee Bowyer.

Drogba retains the captaincy for the home clash with Aston Villa, though that game really could go either way.

Manchester City face Wigan on Monday and will be looking to make amends for the midweek defeat to Everton so hopefully both Tevez and Johnson will contribute to the cause.

Stoke duo Thomas Sorensen and Matthew Etherington return to the first eleven as they face a horrible West Ham side at Upton Park, and Patrice Evra also reclaims a starting spot.

The team currently sits in 37,325th place out of a total of 2,294,699 teams.
