With Neil back from his holiday, the podcast returns with plenty to disgust and first up is some praise for an unlikely side – Liverpool. Kenny Dalglish’s men have made it to the final of the League Cup and dumped Manchester United out of the FA Cup at the weekend so if ever there’s a time to speak highly of them it’s now.

Ger then embarks on a quite startling rant about the merit of pre-game handshakes in the wake of the FA’s decision to cancel the weekend pleasantries between Queens Park Rangers and Chelsea, while there’s a look ahead to the Fifth Round of the competition.

In the second half of the show, the focus switches to the Premier League where Neil gives his thoughts on Roberto Mancini’s future at Manchester City, before bemoaning the inconvenience of the African Cup of Nations, much to the disgust of Ger.

Unsuprisingly, Ger does his best to defend the recent dodgy dealing of one Harry Redknapp as the pod rounds off nicely with some friendly debate about payments to managers for transfers.
