Ger drags himself out of his sick bed to make sure  there’s a full compliment of Hold the BackPage regulars to discuss the opening weekend of Premier League fixtures. Unsurprisingly, Neil waxes lyrical about Sergio Aguero’s introduction to the Premier League while also heaping the usual praise on David Silva. The Cesc Fabregas fiasco is touched on for hopefully the last time, while there’s also a round up of the other results and some fantasy football discussion as Neil flies high after Gameweek 1.

In part two of the pod, regular BPF contributor Michael Orr of the excellent Mao’s Football Show joins the lads to discuss Robbie Keane’s move to Major League Soccer. There’s great insight into the league’s salary cap and designated player rules, before Michael fills us in on the progress of his Portland Timbers who are enjoying their first season of MLS.
