With the Major League Soccer season getting underway this weekend, Neil is joined by Kevin Egan to discuss all of the important issues to keep an eye on in 2015.
The season almost didn’t happen, but the terms of a new collective bargaining agreement were finalised at the last minute and the campaign will kick off as planned.
The lads discuss the two new franchises – New York City FC and Orlando City SC – as well as the outlook for Kev’s own Chicago Fire as they look to keep pace with the new kids on the block.
There’s also talk around how many teams is too many as the league looks to reach 24 by 2020, while the fact that 60% of teams makes the end of year playoffs is another bone of contention.
Another team in focus is Toronto FC given their big spending season, and Kev also explains the importance of the recently announced broadcast deals with Sky Sports and Eurosport.
