Back page The big spending in China continues with Alex Teixeira swapping Shakhtar Donetsk for Jiangsu Suning in a deal believed to be worth around €50 million.
The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool during the January transfer window before the Premier League club pulled the plug on any possible deal.
Since moving to the Ukraine from Vasco de Gama in 2009, Teixira has scored 89 goals in 223 games and built up his reputation with some eye catching performances in the Champions League.
Teixiera joins Ramires, Gervinho, Jackson Martinez and Fredy Guarin on the list of players who have swapped Europe for the Chinese Super League since the turn of the year.
The likes of Asamoah Gyan, Tim Cahill and Paulinho already play in the competition.
