Del Piero to play in the Indian Super League

Alessandro Del Piero is the latest star to join the Indian Super League for its inaugural season, penning a four month deal with Delhi Dynamos.

The Italian, who spent the last two years with Sydney FC in the Australia A-League, will be one of the biggest attractions when the competition gets underway on October 12.

David Trezeguet, David James, Robert Pires, Michael Chopra and Joan Capdevilla are amongst the other well-known allocated to one of the eight teams.

Former England goalkeeper James is the player-manager of the Kerala Blasters franchise, co-owned by cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar.
