Looking ahead to this weekend’s games in the Premier League and first up is the clash between Burnley and Arsenal.
Burnley are having trouble finding the net along with some poor defending while Arsenal are in good form after their brilliant away win against Leicester City last weekend. I think Arsenal will beat Burnley 2-0 and will make a late charge for the European places this season.
The second match on Saturday is Sheffield United against Southampton. I know Sheffield United have won a few matches lately but I think that The Blades are running out of games while Southampton have conceded a lot of goals lately and are in need of a few wins to stay in the premiership for another season. Due to the lack of home fans the theme of away wins will continue and Southampton will beat Sheffield United 2-0.
The third match on Saturday is Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves have found it hard to score goals without Raul Jimenez and it looks like they will be happy to finish mid-table this season. Villa with games in hand are having a great season and should continue their good form this weekend with a 1-0 home win.
The late match on Saturday is Brighton & Hove Albion v Leicester City. I have watched a lot of Brighton this season and could easily be in a better position than they are now. Leicester have been great this season especially away from home but this will be a tough game for The Foxes as Brighton defend well and I think this match will be a draw.
The first match on Sunday is a 12 o’clock kick off sees West Bromwich Albion take on Newcastle United. This is a huge match in the relegation battle and with West Brom at home, I fancy The Baggies to get a result albeit a close one with West Brom to win 1-0.
Next up Liverpool v Fulham with a 2 o’clock kick off. Liverpool have struggled this season due to injuries in key positions and also missing The Kop. Fulham will believe they can get a result against Liverpool as they have improved under Scott Parker since the start of the season. I think that this match will be a score draw 1-1
The big game of the day is Manchester City against Manchester United. City have been unbelievable in the league over the last few months especially at the back with John Stones and Ruben Diaz. United don’t need any motivation for this game against City being a Manchester Derby but United need to attack more in this match and maybe throw caution to the wind and try to get the win they need to keep their chances open of taking the title. It will be tough for United as City are unbeaten in their last 21 league games. City to beat United 1-0.
The late match on Sunday is Tottenham Hotspur v Crystal Palace. Palace seem to play better away from home and set up to hit teams on the break. Spurs have found these games tough of late and find it hard to break teams down but with Bale starting to play well I think Spurs will beat Palace 3-0.
The action will finish off with two games on Monday. First up is Chelsea against Everton. Everton are having a brilliant season under Carlo Ancelotti and Richarlison is in great form for The Toffees. I am still not sure about Thomas Tuchel because they don’t create enough chances when they have the ball. I think that Everton will beat Chelsea 1-0.
The second game on Monday is West Ham United v Leeds United. This has the makings of a good game specially the way they both attack and both teams are having a great season. Leeds will fancy their chances and have won more games away from home. David Moyes is also doing a great job with West Ham this season and I think this match will be a score draw 2-2
Stay safe and I hope you enjoy the action over the weekend.
