Video: Slaven Bilic discusses Croatia’s production of talented players

Croatia began Euro 2016 with a 1-0 win over Turkey yesterday, and West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic spoke about how the nation has developed so many quality players.

Bilic, who coached Croatia between 2006 and 2012, has offered some great insight as part of the BBC’s analysis team for the European Championships.

With so many quality players in the national side, Croatia are fancied by many to go far in France, and Bilic believes that their progress is a lot to do with how young their promising youngsters are blooded early into first team football.

Bilic also spoke about the reasons why Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was omitted from the 23-man squad, while Glenn Hoddle and Emmanuel Petit offered their thoughts on Northern Ireland’s progress under Michael O’Neill.
