Antoine Griezmann scored a goal in each half to help hosts France see of Germany by two goals to nil in their EURO 2016 semi-final in Marseille.
The Atletico Madrid forward converted a penalty right on the stroke of half time to open the scoring after Bastian Schweinsteiger was adjudged to have handled in the penalty area.
Some uncharacteristically poor defending from the Germans on 72 minutes allowed Griezmann to poke the ball home and seal the win.
Germany dominated possession throughout but were unable to turn that advantage into goals, and they missed the presence of Mario Gomez leading the line up front.
France will now face Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo who will be out to make right their shock 2004 final defeat to Greece.
