Rio-based side Flamengo have won the Copa do Brasil for the 5th time in their history, beating Atlético Paranaense 2-0 last night in front of 70,000 fans in a fervent Maracana.

Two late goals in the second leg of the final was enough to see Mengão crowned cup winners 3-1 on aggregate. Midfielder Elias broke the deadlock in the 86th minute before Hernane put the game beyond doubt with the last kick of the game.

Flamengo can now look forward to Copa Libertadores football next season.
