Video: Dimitar Berbatov scores his first goal for Monaco

by Matthew Blackburn

Dimitar Berbatov scored a dramatic extra-time winner for Monaco against Nice last night in the French Cup. The Bulgarian, on loan from Fulham until the end of the season, showed determination (I know, I couldn’t believe it either) to get on the end of Lucas Ocampos’ low cross to slide in, putting his team through to the next round.

It seems as though Berbatov is enjoying life at the French club, whose fortunes greatly contrast that of his parent club. AS Monaco are 2nd in Ligue 1, five points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain – whilst Fulham, who suffered a dramatic late 3-2 reverse to Liverpool on Wednesday, are the Premier League’s basement club.
