Sorry, but your analysis of Mikel is flawed. Have you even bothered to watch him play? The fact that you use an example from last November is testament to your lack of research in terming Mikel as the scapegoat of Chelsea. What about the other excellent games he has played. Champions league ring any bells? If he was so bad, why did they let Essien go on loan. Why did they not play Oriol Romeu? who is a talented "Sergio Busquests" player as well.
What Mikel brings to the side is defensive solidarity and a smooth transition between defence to the attacking triumvirate of Mata Hazard and Oscar. Sure he may not be the quickest of passers but is that a key quality of someone whose job is to screen the defence? As far as I am concerned, Ramires fulfills the role of a box to box midfielder adequately enough.
The only criticism i have of mikel is his unwillingness to use his impressive passing range and pass forward. Other than that he is strong in possession and a great tactician. If he expands his passing game, he can be an even greater holding midfielder.
Frankly, everyone knows the defence is the weak link in this new chelsea side. I don't know why you have the audacity to pinpoint CHelsea's best holding midfielder as the only fault in the new side. There is a reason why Barca's midfield was shut down last year, theres a reason why Di Matteo has used him despite so much criticism. Just ask any chelsea fan, Mikel is the real unsung hero.

nice article. Do more findings about mikel he's one of the best in his role. Ask Di Matteo he will tell you.
Chelsea has more than enough problem already with john terry and cole saga. Worsening the situation is the thought of adding a world class football actor to chelsea squad. Honour is of importance.
