I swore off FM11 a week ago. It became pointless with FM12 coming out any moment. In the end my team had so much new potential I crafted out over the course of many seasons, but I can’t see it because I know I’ll switch over to the new game.

Recognise so much of that. On FM2011 I have now got Barrow to the Premiership after 13 seasons. Have a strange sense of achievement when a young player I bought in a game starts featuring in real life games, like I helped discover him or something. Looking forward to the next chapter in the game, not sure my girlfriend is though.

You’ve not reached the ultimate level of FM addiction until you turn it into a group thing – until you reach a point where you’re doing a shopping run and your friend texts asking whether selling off a 32 year old Dani Alves for 25 million to promote a youth team fullback is a good deal then you can’t say you’re at the height of your addiction.
