The ink, it’s all over

Sleeves, tributes to children, Latin phrases and, ehhhh, angel wings. It seems that tattoos are this decade’s version of charity wristbands, i.e. the must have accessory for the modern footballer. Raul Meireles’ recent move to Liverpool sees the Merseysiders boast an impressive array of body art, while Everton, Manchester City and Aston Villa are well represented here.

Below is an XI of inked up Premier League footballers.

Tim Howard (Everton)

Martin Skrtel (Liverpool)

Daniel Agger (Liverpool)

Wayne Bridge (Manchester City)

Tim Cahill (Everton)

Stephen Ireland (Aston Villa)

Raul Meireles (Liverpool)

Steve Sidwell (Aston Villa)

Fernando Torres (Liverpool)

Craig Bellamy (Manchester City, on loan at Cardiff City)

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)
