Tottenham Hotspur are in the hunt for a midfielder and have turned their attention to Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko.
The North London club have reportedly bid £16 million for the French midfielder whose stock has risen considerably in recent months following some solid performances at EURO 2016.
However, the bid from Spurs is believed to fall well short of the £30 million that Newcastle are hoping to receive for the 27-year-old.
Sissoko is currently on international duty but has been given permission to leave the camp (see tweet below) to complete finalise a transfer.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side previously tried to lure Wilfried Zaha from fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace but again the bid was short of the club’s evaluation.
.@MoussaSissoko a été autorisé par #Deschamps à quitter Clairefontaine à 9h pour finaliser son transfert. Direction Bari pour le groupe.
