Liverpool are set to raid fellow Premier League side Southampton once more and splash out £34 million on forward Sadio Mane.
Mane netted 11 league goals in 37 games last season and possesses the kind of raw pace that Liverpool have lacked in attack.
Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the 24-year-old, and a deal could be concluded as early as Tuesday.
The fee could rise to £36m, making the deal one of Liverpool’s most expensive, rivalling £32.5m for Christian Benteke and £35m for Andy Carroll.
Southampton would make a sizeable profit should the deal go through having paid Salzburg £10 million for Mane’s signature just two years ago.
In recent seasons, Liverpool have brought Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne from St. Mary’s to Anfield with varying levels of success.
