There was plenty of transfer activity on Deadline Day but move that failed to materialise was Daniel Sturridge to Arsenal, according to Goal.com.
The website has run an exclusive story which claims that the England striker was offered to Arsenal by his representatives but his current club, Liverpool, refused to play ball.
Sturridge’s injury problems have been well documented, and last week he stated that he dislikes playing out wide under Jurgen Klopp.
Daniel Sturridge has been offered to Arsenal by his representatives on loan, but Liverpool remain adamant that their frustrated striker is not going anywhere, Goal understands.
The 26-year-old, a boyhood Arsenal fan, has cut a disappointed figure at Anfield in recent weeks due to a lack of game time and Jurgen Klopp’s failure to play him in his preferred central position.
In the Reds’ most recent Premier League outing against Tottenham Hotspur, Sturridge only entered the game in the 88th minute and appears to be below Divock Origi in the substitutes’ pecking order.
While Sturridge appears to be over the worst of his injuries, many observes have commented on a noticeable deterioration in his pace, though his finishing is still up there with the very best.
