QPR unveil new stadium plans

by Up Front

QPR stadiumDespite having cracked an average attendance of 20,000  just five times in the last fifty years, Queens Park Rangers have unveiled plans for a new 40,000 seater stadium.

However, the club’s Chairman Tony Fernandes feels that the decision to leave Loftus Road is a good one as the development will be part of a wider project that will develop 24,000 homes and create 50,000 jobs in the Old Oak area of West London.

Loftus Road is – and always will be – a special place for the club and our  supporters, but we need more than an 18,000 capacity.
Planning permission is currently being sought by 2015 with construction to begin shortly after.
