Fair point on Carrick as I was basing his form on the end of the 2009/10 season in which he was awful. However, he does seem to have a reputation as an unsung hero, so much to the point that he gets pretty oversung! I’d have probably placed Essien, Fellani and Fletcher ahead of him. Tiote was a really interesting choice though.

I’m not agreeing about Carrick, I think he’s been great this year as opposed to last season. Other than that, you may have a point, and in these kind of teams there’s always going to be a thousand options. Thanks for the feedback though!

Interesting article and great team but I can’t help feeling that Chung-Young Lee, Michael Carrick and Peter Odemwingie aren’t unsung at all. Lee and Odemwingie have played very well this season but have often been singled out for praise.Indeed, I think that Odemwingie won the player of the month award recently. Carrick has been pretty poor this season in my opinion. Great piece and blog though
