Staying in the top tier for a moment, Manchester Utd overcame the previous week&#8217;s disappointment by defeating Liverpool 3-2, but it seems to be less than triumphant as it once was as Liverpool continue to slide down the challenger rankings United have to deal with. The scoreline flattered Liverpool to an extent, a Steven Gerrard double from set pieces kicked off a mini revival, but the magic of a rejuvenated Dimitar Berbatov sealed the three points for United.
