Premier League Betting Tips

The Premier League returns  after a short absence due to the International break. Those who decide to have a bet on the games should be aware that there tends to be a few surprise results after the International’s and stakes are probably best kept to a minimum. Of course, betting should always be carried out sensibly anyway, given that it carries risk with money involved.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we have eight games on Saturday, one on Sunday and another on Monday to look forward to.  With Man United best priced 1/100 for the title, the race looks to be over on that front. All eyes will be on those teams facing relegation as well as on who will edge closer to securing a Champions League place.

The bookmakers reckon that both QPR and Reading are all but relegated, leaving quite a tight betting heat in place in terms of who else will go down. Wigan 11/10, Villa 2/1, Sunderland 11/4 and Southampton 17/2 are your remaining candidates for the drop.

At the top end, the betting markets indicate that Arsenal and Tottenham will fight it out for the final Champion’s League spot, with the Gunner’s favourites to prevail at 5/6, while Spurs can be backed at Evens to finish in the top four.

Lets take a look at which bets stand out for this weekend’s betting tips…

Everton v Stoke

Stoke are really struggling for goals at present with just one in their last four EPL games. The Potter’s have failed to score on 13 occasions in the league this season and they come up against an Everton side who recently kept a clean sheet against Man City at home. I think there is a good chance that they can keep another one here and also bag 3 points, so I will be backing them to do just that.

Bet Selection: Everton to win with a clean sheet @ 11/8 with Coral.

Fulham v QPR

Dimitar Berbatov has scored three goals in his last three matches, brining his EPL tally to 11 for the season. The Bulgarian striker is well able to capitalise on space and he may get plenty of that against a QPR team who know they have to throw bodies forward in search of three points if they want to stay in the league. With that in mind, I will be backing  Berbatov to score in this match at what I would consider a fair price.

Bet Selection: Dimitar Berbatov to score at anytime @ 7/5 with Bwin.
