Bookmaker Special Alert – Super Sunday
BetVictor are promoting a ‘Super Sunday Red Card Refund’ special for the Newcastle v Sunderland and the Chelsea v Man City games.
If a Red Card is shown at any time during either of the aforementioned matches, they will refund losing Correct Score, First/Last Goalscorer, Scorecast and Man Of The Match bets on that particular match up to a maximum of £/€50 per person or household. You can see the full details here.
Moving on to this weekend’s betting, there are a couple of decent opportunities that we will be looking to take advantage of.
Southampton v West Ham
Although West Ham kept a clean sheet against Liverpool last weekend, their away form is poor overall and they are crying out to be opposed here. The Hammers have conceded 26 goals on the road and scored just 9, winning 3 and losing 10 games in the process. Their defence is a big concern and I don’t see much improvement forthcoming from them between now and the end of the season. Sam Allardyce’s men face a tough assignment when they visit St. Mary’s on Saturday.
Southampton have won their last three matches in a row against Liverpool, Chelsea and Reading. During these three games, Pochettino’s team have had an average of 57% of the possession, taken 42 shots at goal and only allowed 13 shots on target at their goal. They are playing with tremendous confidence and will want to put on another show of their attacking talents this weekend in front of their home supporters.
I will be taking a couple of angles in terms of betting on this match. There is a good chance that the Saints will win this at a canter and the following selections are put up:
Selection 1: Southamton to win @ 8/9 with Pinnacle
Selection 2: Southampton to win (-1) @ 12/5 with StanJames
Arsenal v Norwich
Arsenal have really got going of late and they are expected to make light work of a Norwich team that is struggling for any kind of form. The Canaries have recorded just one win on the road all season. But with the Gunners priced as short as 2/9 for the win, the value may lie elsewhere.
One point to note is that there have been 59 goals scored at the Emirates this season – more than at any other ground. In addition, the ‘last 5’ table shows that Arsenal have scored 11 goals – more than any other team in the league. With that in mind, the following selections may prove to be profitable this weekend.
Selection 1: Over 3.5 goals to be scored in the match (so 4 or more) @ 25/18 with 32Red
Selection 2: Walcott to score at anytime & Arsenal to win @ 13/10 with Ladbrokes
