Easy. Players to take who will play out wide. Joe Cole, Theo Walcott, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham and James Milner. Job done. Only place England struggle for depth is left and right back. Even then we have centre backs who can adapt to play well there. If fully fit, as with all major footballing nations, England have a squad fully capable of going all the way. Realistically we probably won’t though. My money will be on a semi-final penalty shoot out exit.

Treve – just because Capello must take him doesn’t stop it being tough to justify his inclusion. And later it does say a place in the team – I don’t think he should start, but should be a part of the squad.

I do see how it can be read as being contradictory, but I think it’s worded to avoid that.

You contradict yourself on David Beckham. You seem to spend the whole article saying he should not go to the world cup:

‘unless he does something special in his loan spell at AC Milan it will be difficult for Capello to take him’

‘he will be 35 when the tournament begins and won’t be a realistic pick for the team’

you then finish the article saying Beckham is a must for the England team. Confusing.
