Pic: World Cup goals celebration analysis

by Charles Pulling

The 2014 World Cup matched France 1998 in terms of goals scored with 171 being scored over the course of 64 games. Thanks to the Wall Street Journal here is a breakdown the celebrations that followed those goals – excluding the own-goals of course.

Rather uninspiringly it is the old ‘run with arms out’ the tops the list, whereas only one ‘failed-back flip’ registers courtesy of record breaker Miroslav Klose.
