Former Portsmouth manager Alain Perrin has been relieved of his duties at French side St. Etienne after a poor start to the season which sees them in 17th place in Ligue 1.
A weekend 3-0 defeat at the hands of Paris St. Germain was the final nail in the 53 year old’s coffin and he leaves the club after 13 months in charge.
“The coach of St Etienne, Alain Perrin, and fitness trainer Christian Jahan have been relieved of their duties from today,” said the club in a statement.
Perrin was appointed as coach at Pompey in 2005, but only lasted 8 months in the job, winning just four games out of twenty.
He has also coached Olympique Lyonnais and Sochaux.
