Serie A – Week 22 Review

Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus FC competes for the ball with Mobido Diakite of SS Lazio during the Serie A match between Juventus FC and SS Lazio at Stadio Olimpico di Torino on January 31, 2010 in Turin, Italy.

This was not a particularly glorious week in the history of Italian football. A total of nine games were played over the weekend, with all but three fixtures ending in draws and five producing two goals or less. To make matters worse, the most eye-catching game of week 22, the clash between Parma and Internazionale, was called off due to snow at the Stadio Tardini. The game has been re-arranged for the evening of February 10th....

Best of the Best: The Big 4 Select XI

The presence of a “Big 4” in the Premier League is well documented. Using only players from these footballing heavyweights,  I’ve compiled what I believe to be the best team possible and one, which after expending a lot of effort putting together, I'd dub as near to unbeatable as could be. I'll admit it now, I'm a United fan but I’ve honestly tried to be as impartial as I could during selection ....…. many of you out there will likely scoff at it and brand me an idiot, but this is my opinion and I’ll stick by it, damn it....

Double Deutch

The midweek action centred around damage limitation for Ruining Football with only eight players involved, while Chelsea's double gameweek means Michael Ballack is an important figure this weekend. The signing of Michael Ballack paid off almost immediately as the German performed well in Chelsea's comfortable 3-0 win over Birmingham, claiming an assist and a clean sheet. His side play twice in Gameweek 24, and though both fixtures are away from Stamford Bridge, they will be confident of claiming six points from Burnley and Hull....

This weekend’s Premier League Preview

Samir Nasri of Arsenal tussles with Nemanja Vidic of Manchester United during the Barclays Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on November 8, 2008 in London, England.

The weekly preview returns this week with a mouth watering clash between arch rivals Arsenal and Manchester Utd, Chelsea who travel to Turf Moor and the KC Stadium, and Liverpool who will try to continue their recent improvement in form against Bolton. Arsenal returned to the summit of the Premier League for a ...

Week 21 might just have proved to be the decisive weekend of the Serie A season. Two crucial games took place at the top of the table as Juventus faced Roma, and Internazionale and Milan clashed in Italy’s fiercest derby. Here’s how it all went...
