ahem - Charlie George? no Steve Perryman?

surely not Seth Jonhson who must be one of the worse players ever to play for England? ditto David Nugent, how he ever got a cap I will never understand!

I have two groups of players that immediately springs to mind. The first, a Celtic trio from the heady reign of Martin O'Neill: Chris Sutton, Alan Thompson and Steve Guppy - all 1 cap England wonders.

The latter I think we can all agree was never that good, barely Celtic standard never mind England, but a peak Chris Sutton would be ideal for England right now. Thompson might be useful in this day (potentially solving the left hand side problem) but ultimately, unlikely to make an impact.

My next group of players are some of the worst ever to grace the Scotland jersey. Berti Vogts is the one to thank.

Warren Cummings - WHO!?
Dougie Freedman - WHO!??!?
Peter Canero - WHO!?!?!?!

Vogts also handed caps (and more than one!) to Paul Devlin, Scott Dobie and Gareth Wlliams. God damn it Vogts, god damn...
