Hoolahan has been brilliant for a long time now for Norwich. He never wastes a pass and nearly always does something creative with the ball – in a nutshell he is someone we need in the Irish squad. For my money he is a ready made replacement for Duff. But then again what would we know. Green, Kilbane and O’Dea all merit a place ahead of him?

Trap better make the Euro finals with Ireland, that’s all I can say.
