Manchester United have paid in the region of £89 million (€105 million) to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford four years after he left for Serie A giants Juventus.
The Frenchman’s signing was announced just after midnight UK time, fitting perfectly into the Asian and American markets that are highly valued by the club.
Pogba has put pen to paper on a five-deal at United, with the option for a further year, and he will reportedly earn £290,000-a-week for the duration.
I am delighted to rejoin United. It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with José Mourinho. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends.
But I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford. I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can’t wait to make my contribution to the team. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.

The transfer saga had dragged on for a number of weeks and came to a head over the last day when rapper Stromzy “accidentally” leaked a video made in conjunction with Adidas and Pogba that confirmed the move.
The 23-year-old will wear the number 6 shirt.
