Make mine a double

West Ham and Aston Villa are the first two teams to have double gameweek this season and both are represented in this week’s Fantasy Football starting eleven.

Having two players in your fantasy football team from the club sitting in 19th place in the Premiership is a bit stupid, but nevertheless Mark  Noble and Velon Behrami are giving starting spots in the Ruining Football side.

Joining the two Hammers in the team this week is Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock who also has two games in which to make his mark, while injuries to Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher and Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa have led to their sale.

Joe Hart is ineligible for Birmingham’s game with Manchester City which means that Jussi Jaaskelainen is the only option in goal, and a game against Chelsea doesn’t inspire much confidence.

Patrice Evra and Ryan Shawcross however are both decent shouts for a clean sheet with home fixtures, and up front there could be goals for Drogba, Torres and the revelation of the year so far Darren Bent.

I’ve gone with Cesc Fabregas as captain due to his ridiculous ability to pull bonus points out of thin air. Arsenal are also free-flowing at home which could mean some assists against a Spurs side struggling with injuries to key players.

Last week’s tally of 58 points was good and helped move us higher in the overall standing, though it would have been six points more had Insua been in the team ahead of Evra.

Didier Drogba continued his habit of scoring well with a goal and an assist as skipper, while Gary Cahill and Fernando Torres also got themselves on the scoresheet.

Gareth Barry provided the assist for Martin Pertov’s Manchester City goal and Fabregas bagged three bonus points as usual.

The team currently sits in 21,253rd place out of a total of 2,113,316 teams.

  1. Atrocious week. Shocker.

While everyone are getting 60s, 70s and 80s I’m miles back in the mid 30s with a 10 point Andy Reid to come in as sub.

Unless my Man City players get more than the basics today I’ll stay dropping…
