Ludogorets defender saves two penalties to put his side into Champions League group stage

by Up Front

Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad have qualified for the group stages of the Champions League for the first time thanks to defender Cosmin Moti.

A stunning last minute equaliser in the second leg of their tie with Steaua Bucharest forced extra time to decide who would progress.

With seconds remaining in extra time, Ludogorets goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov was sent off, forcing Moti to go between the sticks with all three substitutes having been made.

The 29-year-old Romanian wasn’t fazed in the slightest though, converting his side’s first spot kick in the shoot out before making two saves.

We’ll ignore the fact that he was miles off his line for the second one at least.
