I am unconvinced, he still needs to prove himself but he is young and does have time to improve.

He had a very poor start to the season but came good near the end, played very well in the Champions League return match against Chelsea

Cool article. I agree with Lucas having potential and just as important is that he has character. Even in the face of being booed by his own fans (which is isckening in my opinion) he still wants nothing more than to prove himself to them. Thats what you need in players. Ability is useless without character.

I used to hate Lucas. Used to groan every time I saw him on the team sheet. But I have changed my opinion on the youngster.

I think he needs more time. He has had some major flaws at the in giving away too many free kicks and he is also guilty of being slow on the ball and losing possession quite a bit, however in the latter he is improving every game. The game that made me change my mind about him was one I only saw recently having never seen it when the game was actually played, vs Everton way back in 07/08 when Everton were ahead, 1-0, Lucas came on in a shock sub for Gerrard and won the game for Liverpool. Kyut scored the goals but Lucas brought balance, composure a new strength in attack that won the game, 2-1.

He has the potential, as does Babel. Just hopefully they can find it sooner rather than later.
