Liverpool’s Skrtel scores own goal thanks to keeper

by Back Page Football

Slovakia won’t be going to the World Cup after their 1-0 defeat to Greece and it was a shocker of an own goal that was their undoing.

They say that you should never play a back pass on target but Martin Skrtel did just that and was rewarded with credit for the goal, despite former Everton goalkeeper Jan Mucha playing a very big part in it too.

The video clip shows quite clearly that the keeper was in utter slumber when Skirtel delivered the ball. The keeper had all the time to sweep or even pass the ball.
