The primary goal was obviously to get a true goal scorer to rid the club of one of the lowest goal tallies in living memory.

Of course, Rogers deserves more time but the fact that FSG trampled on any green shoots by refusing to offer a few more million for Dempsey, makes it perfectly clear that they do not understand what is obvious to all others in the sport.

Can we afford to wait to see if FSG can play catch up and learn the rudimentaries of our game after one of the worst periods in living memory?
