The Express are reporting that Galatasaray have joined Liverpool in the hunt for Ivorian striker Lacina Traore.
The 23-year-old is available after Anzhi Makhachkala introduced major cutbacks in the summer and are looking to sell on their high paid players. Traore scored 17 goals for the Russian last season after joining from Kuban
The player’s agent Dmitry Selyuk said
“But I can’t deny that in the case of a decent proposal that suits both us and Anzhi, Lacina could still change club.
“The interest in Traore in Russia and Europe is quite large.
“Therefore, if we get a good offer in the winter I think the leadership of Anzhi will let him go.
Liverpool are believed to be amongst those clubs, along with the likes of Juventus, Galatasaray and a number of teams in the Russian Premier League, however it remains to be seen if they are in a position to spend big on the 6 foot 8 striker, considering the form of Daniel Sturridge and the recent arrival of Victor Moses.
