Kitson heads to Teeside

Middlesbrough have taken Stoke City striker Dave Kitson to the Riverside for two months on loan.

The 29 year old is new manager Gordon Strachan’s third signing since he took over from Gareth Southgate, following the arrival of both Marcus Bent and Isaiah Osbourne.

“I’m delighted Dave is coming in to bolster the squad’s numbers and give us more options,” said Strachan.

“I’ve been a fan of Dave’s for a few years now. He is a good striker and another player for us to call on.”

Kitson was Stoke’s record signing when he joined them for £5.5 million in 2008 but has scored only twice in 25 league games for the Potters.
