I don't understand all this whining about too many games. Footballers are all a bunch of nancys. Over in North America, professional NHL players play 82 games over the season (Oct-Apr) followed by a gruelling playoff series of especially high intensity matches of which they must win 16 of a possible 28 games to win the trophy. Given the full contact nature of ice hockey, it is easily arguable that it is a more demanding sport than football, and yet they play a significantly more rigorous schedule. Get on with it already!
