Jurgen Klopp signs new long-term Liverpool contract

Liverpool have confirmed that manager Jurgen Klopp has today signed a new deal, believed to be six years in length.

Backroom staff members Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz have also put pen to paper on new deals ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The news was confirmed through a joint statement from principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner and FSG president Mike Gordon on the club’s official website.

We are very much at the beginning of our journey, but to already have the connection we have with this very special place is incredible.

I am the first to recognise that with this great commitment comes a great responsibility.

All of our coaching careers we have looked to make teams and clubs better, with the ultimate goal of making the supporters proud and happy.

– Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League last season and lost the Europa League Final to Sevilla.
