This weekend’s football action sees three games take place on Sunday. Everton host Wigan, Portsmouth welcome Manchester City and Fulham travel to Villa Park to take on an Aston Villa side who have had a topsy-turvy week to say the least.

First and foremost, it is hard to ignore the trouncing that Wigan took at Blackpool midweek. Roberto Martinez may have rested first team players for that game but it still raises doubts as to whether he can keep Wigan above water this season. I fully fancy Everton to get their season up and running with the addition of Sylvain Distin at the back. At 30/1 a repeat of last season’s 4-0 doesn’t seem a million miles away. Add Yakubu to come off the bench and grab the last goal for 11/2 with Paddy Power.

Fratton Park’s Sunday entertainment will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 1 with a 1.30pm kick off. I expect to see a straight forward City win but I’ve a sneaky feeling Pompey will score first. New signing Piquionne isn’t a bad choice at 9/1 to open the scoring. Incidentally,City are also 9/1 to come from behind to win.

Finally our Super Sunday sees one side on a European buzz face a side beaten at the first stage. With Fulham on the back of a long journey home I cannot see them winning a second successive away game. Villa are at 14′s to win 3-1 and I fancy James Milner to score anytime, you’ll get that at 7/2.

Happy betting folks.
