Well obviously there's always the suggestion that doing the England job irreparably destroy's your career thus inducing the peak... but my point is look at what every manager was doing when they took it;

Capello - unemployed
McLaren - lower-table Middlesbrough
Sven - decent Lazio having already agreed to leave at the end of the season
Keegan - Fulham
Hoddle - Chelsea who never finished above 11th and end of the season
Venables - unemployed
Taylor - Villa who were runners up

So you have to go back 22 years since a manager left a challenging club for England, and I'd wager this Spurs team have a lot more potential than Villa in 1990.

DDS,

Almost certainly not simply because almost every previous manager has already peaked in club football before taking the job.

Its a big decision for Redknapp and his response will probably reflect how much longer he wishes to stay in management. If he wants to go on for another 5/10 years, then I would expect him to be offered the England job again in the future, which may convince him to stay at Spurs.

I'm still expecting him to take it in the summer tho...

Richard I have a question;

Has any potential England manager ever been asked to give up more than what the FA will ask Harry to give up?

<i>CL football, young, skilful team who are potential league winners. Mid contract. Financial stability, new training ground, new stadium...
