This is a well-written article that’s already far better than most articles out there about Spurs or Andre Villas-Boas! Hope to see you write more on my favorite football head coach and team.

I for one will be very keen to see Spurs’ defense when AVB finally employs his infamous high-line defense with Lloris playing the sweeper keeper role, that ought to improve Spurs’ ability to retain possession. Passing out from the back isn’t Friedel’s strong suit, and should see a massive improvement in this department when Lloris finally plays.

Wow, no seriously, wow. One of the best football related reads I’ve had the pleasure of reading recently. The historical background had great depth and you made some very good points. As a Spurs ffaa I was truly delighted that we signed Lloris but at the same time shocked as well, he is potentially one of, if not the, best goalkeepers in the World, so agile it’s quite astonishing at times. Before this summer I really would’ve expected him to sign for one of the elite clubs in Europe, has so much to offer.

Very well written and insightful analysis, integrating excellent historical perspective with accurate and pertinent current observation, especially impressive for such a young journalist. Compared with most of the semi-literate, tendentious, dross which passes for sports journalism these days, this lucid literary offering is in a different class altogether. Young Ciaran has a high promising literary career ahead of him in the field of sports journalism.
