Interesting and well written article, Taarabt will definitely be an intriguing player to have in the prem. But, picking up on a minor issue, wasn't Carroll's transfer fee £35 not 50 million?

Footballs have ego's shocker!

Seriously though Taarabt has talent but the setup QPR employed to get the best out of him will struggle in the premier league and the amount of times Taarabt loses the ball in a game by trying to take on players is obscene. His attitude has always been a problem and while he may go on to have moderate success he will never be a top player.

Also additionally on your comment on Victor Moses, Moses didn't want to 'jump the gun' and 'hotfoot it' to another club, he wanted to stay at Palace but had to be sold as he was their most sellable asset when they went into administration.

The skill this guy has is breathtaking at times and it's fair to say without him, whilst QPR were very solid at the back last term, I doubt if QPR would have been promoted automatically without him and his 19 goals and countless assist's. His on the ball skill is greater than any player I can see currently playing in the Premiership. No exceptions.

This does all come at a cost though and I would rather (as a QPR fan) see him leave now rather than potentially make life hell for everybody else and be out the door in Jan anyway. We must have others stepping up to the plate this season or we will struggle.

"though QPR are no small club and have luxurious foreign investment at their disposal " - a little more research would have made this otherwise well written article carry a little more substance. QPR will look to achieve a miracle this season. The most that the second rishest club in the world will spend this season looks to be 1.25M on DJ Campbell. Ecclestone and Briatori are using the club as a means of making a quick buck. Its still quite dissapointing to be referred to as moneybags rangers throughout the press. Warnock and his group of heroes will fight to the last though, and with this outstanding talent in Adel Taarabt, we've got a fighting chance. He changes his mind like the wind. Soon he will pledge his future to the club, before courting Arsenal and Chelsea again. If (a big one) he learns how to work hard, as Redknapp put it, he can be better than Luka Modric.

Alistair,

Agree with your view on Taraabt (I'm a QPR season ticket holder), although your perception that we have "luxorious foreign investment" is misguided.

Warnock has been told we have NO money to spend this summer and if you notice, our 3 signings are all on frees. If we stay up it won't be through any investment, it will be on the smallest budget in the history of the Prem League!
