“How not to troll” by Toronto FC

One thing Major League Soccer clubs generally nail is social media, it’s fair to say that they’re Twitter pros.

Unfortunately for Toronto FC though, they committed the ultimate faux pas and got a bit too cocky during last night’s game with fellow Canadians, Montreal Impact.

Having gone a goal down early on, Toronto turned the game on its head with three goals in quick succession, including one from Irishman Darren O’Dea.

Just after the half hour, an injury to one of the Impact players prompted Toronto’s social media person to fire out the following tweet –

Of course you can probably guess what happened after that – Montreal scored twice in the second half to leave the final score 3-3.

Some might it was a pity they didn’t get a winner…
