Hold the BackPage – Sorry Mr Delaney

by Back Page Football

It’s a busy pod this week as Ger returns after a stint working in public relations for the FAI, and the lads look at all the latest goings on at Manchester City, the European adventures of our League of Ireland clubs and the Ireland under 19s at the European Championships.

The first part of this week’s show focuses on Manchester City’s latest dip into the transfer market with Neil understandably delighted at the prospect of Sergio Aguero leading the front line. Pod favourite Mario Balotelli also unsurprisingly comes up for debate, before attentions turn to the other big spenders on the continent at the moment – Malaga and Paris St. Germain. The segment rounds off with some criticism for Rio Ferdinand, much to Tom’s displeasure.

There’s an international feel to the second half of the pod with the draw for the World Cup qualifiers getting a mention and Ger picks up the pieces after Neil’s shocking revelation that he didn’t watch any of the European under 19 Championships. There’s a look at how the League of Ireland clubs are doing before Ger goes on the defensive over some good old fashioned FAI bashing.
