Ireland blooded a number of new players in their international friendly win over Poland, however the lads’ initial excitement and optimism soon dies a death with the realisation that Giovanni Trapattoni will be going back to his tried and tested for the upcoming qualifiers.

There’s also mention of England’s win over Brazil and some encouraging results for both Wales and Scotland.

In the Premier League, Ger and Willie are hopeful that Spurs can claim third spot this weekend, while Neil is less enthusiastic about Manchester City’s chances of retaining their title.

To finish there’s a preview of next week’s Champions League games with Ger set to join his hipster gang to watch Dortmund’s trip to Shakhtar while everyone else soaks up the glamour of Real Madrid against Manchester United.
