здравствулте!
Or hello, to the rest of you!
It’s that time of the year again – where we ditch our red, blue, or green and white and row together behind the one set of colours.
No, it’s not Ryder Cup mayhem rolling over into another week, it’s international week and as the funny looking alphabet above may have told you, the Russians are coming!
To that end, we’re putting behind us the usual devotion to the club game and hosting a special International-focused Hold the Back Page.
First up, we have ITV sport’s James Appell on to fill us in on just what to expect/fear from little Dick’s team on Friday night in Aviva Stadium.
We have a special guest this week too, former Ireland striker Don Givens is with us to talk about the highlight of his international career – the 3-0 win over USSR in 1974 when Givens scored a hat trick in Dalymount Park.
There’s an exclusive HTBP interview with Ireland winger Liam Lawrence, and James Baxter tells us just why we should be happy we’re going to Zilina and not Bratislava for next week’s tie with Slovakia.
Don’t forget there’s the usual Tweet the Press (Woy Hodgson’s Red Sox special) and our betting competition Tip/Off, thanks to Paddy Power, with this week’s game choice the Slovakia v Ireland qualifier.
> Full details are outlined here
Slovakia v Republic of Ireland – Comment below with the winner, first goalscorer, the minute of the goal as well as the final score to be in with a chance to win this week’s competition.
There’s also the newsround including Shamrock Rovers stutter toward the Airtricity League title, Liverpool’s renaissance/decline and not a high class hooker in sight…
насладитесь! (enjoy!)
